For this weeks creative thinking exercise I decided to do something simple. According www.rolljak.com brainstorming with a friend is a good way to boost creative thinking so that's what I did. I hopped on a call with my friend Matthew and I let him decide what we brainstorm about. We ended up deciding to be Ingen scientists and and create a super powerful hybrid dinosaur. However, I set the rule that our animal had to be biologically sound, meaning that our hybrid won't be invincible and will have strengths and weaknesses. Our goal was to make an animal capable of replacing humans as the apex predator on our planet. We started by establishing a base genome or a creature we "start" with. We chose a Utahraptor, one of, if not the, largest species of raptor to ever exist. With lots of claws and a high level of intelligence, this proved to be a great starting point. We continued by adding animals to its genetic makeup to give it attributes and abilities from said animals. We added the following animals to this Utahraptor's gene pool: Siberian Tiger, Russel's Viper, Rattlesnake, Saltwater Crocodile, Cuttlefish and Chimpanzee. We stopped there since Matthew had to go but even with just these animal, our animal was already very powerful. The tiger DNA added padded feet for stealth and increased arm strength, which work excellently with the chimpanzee DNA since it added a apposable thumb. The Russel's Viper and Rattlesnake not only gave our animal absurdly powerful and dangerous venom but also gave our Utahraptor heat sensing pits and an unhinge-able jaw. This, coupled with increased jaw strength from the Saltwater crocodile DNA, means our animal could rip off a human arms with ease and at the same time envenomate them, for context our creatures venom should not only paralyze its victim but also prevent their blood from clouting, meaning they'll be paralyzed and bleeding internally. And the cherry on top was the cuttlefish DNA, which would help our animal live in warmer environments as well as give it the ability to camouflage.

Today, I decided to analyze the cover art for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I tried to understand why Nintendo place certain characters where they did. For some context, Super Smash Bros Ultimate (SSBU for short) is a fighting game that takes characters from several different and popular video game franchises and puts them together to watch them fight. Some of the series included in SSBU are Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Star Fox, Metroid, Kirby, and tons more. On the cover of the game, we see characters like Mario, Link, and Inkling at the front. Mario is going to be front and center because he's the basically Nintendo's mascot. The other 2 are up very up close because their respective game were new. Characters like Kirby and Donkey Kong are also close to the certain but this is most likely due to how popular each of them were as appose to recent game releases. Other more niche characters like Marth, Ice Climbers and Ness are farther away from the center and are smaller because they are less popular but still on the cover since they've been apart of the Smash Bros franchise for a very long time. Pikachu and Fox are at the bottom but still large and upfront because they are not only popular but also have been with in the Smash Bros universe since the first game on the Nintendo 64.
