Blog #24

Creative     Today I decided to go on a bit of field trip whilst talking with Chatgpt. I remember reading on Indeed's page for creative thinking exercises that going outside on a "field trip" can be great for boosting creative thinking. In my conversation with Chatgpt, we were talking about an alien species for a superhero themed, DND style campaign I made for my friends. I was describing the aliens design as well as the concept of allowing them to have superpowers just like humans. We also discussed a potential name for alien's species and I settled on the name: Ingarians. I even decided to use some of the other names like Virex, Pyroth, and Exlith, as potential names or positions of power in Ignarian society.     Thanks to Chatgpt, as well as the my own ideas from my walk, I now have a good idea of what Ignarian society will look like. They'll have a monarchy, in which the king has 2 or 3 advisors that help him make decisions. The ai was extremely helpful, ad...

Creative So today, I decided to make a mindmap, an exercise I found on IDEO .com. In this exercise, I write an idea or problem down on a piece of paper and I write down ideas or solutions to the problem/ idea that is circled in the middle. Here is the image of my paper of ideas. I was coming up with future dnd campaign ideas for me and my friends. These are some of the ideas I came up with. It was really fun doing this exercise and I can definitely tell it got my creative side going. Would definitely recommend others to do this exercise. I think I'm going to convince my friends to do this exercise.

Magazine ads

Magazine ads      This first ad uses icons like the PlayStation controller as well as the Switch to show what consoles the esports team uses. I also used the Smash bros and Overwatch logos to help me with this as well.  The next 2 are the same ad are of a library. The reason they are the same is because one is resized to be a full-sized page and quarter page. This ad is also for esports team again I used game play from the latest Fortnite season I used the blue background to compliment the blue text and whilst it didn't come out very visible, that fine because the ESPORTS letters in white came out super visible which was my true goal. Creative     Today, I decided to do an exercise called 10 ideas in 10 minutes, which I found on innovationlab.net. This exercise is designed to speed up your creative thinking. In this exercise, I have 10 minutes to come up with 10 potential solutions to problem. The problem I will be solving comes from a superhero themed DND campaign I created for my friends, the problem being: the experience system. I have the game set up so that my friends can level-up through training or stopping enemies from continuing their villainous plots. With that being said, I shall begin.     So idea #1 was to refine the power system so they can do more damage. Idea #2 was to make more quick/easy missions to do. Idea #3 was to make more enemies to beat up resulting in more exp. Idea #4 was to make missions give more experience. Idea #4 was to increase the amount of experience dropped by enemies. Idea #5 was to refine the superpower system so that superpowers are even better than they alre...

Designing the experience

Touchpoints     My restaurant, Cafe of Hope, has some unique touchpoints not seen in very many other restaurants. The first one that comes to mind are the employees. This is because the gimmick of the restaurant shapes each experience with an employee into a unique roleplay game. I created this touchpoint because I see as a fun, little game that can be played by both the customer and employee. Next, would be the tables themselves and anime poster around the restaurant. I created this touchpoint because they would be promoting not only the anime's represented by the restaurant but also the restaurant itself.  There are a few other obvious touchpoint like the restaurant business card and any tableware that we might want to put our brand on like the bottoms of plates.
