Do you know what you talking about?
Top three places I would like to work and what I have to do to work there
Instructions:
For your top 3 jobs, what is the company, what are the company's stated values, goals, and mission? Do they have a Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or other social media accounts? What did you learn about the company from their website? Did you learn anything about the company from Glassdoor, newspaper articles, industry articles, or other online/news services? Are you friends or connected in any way with anybody currently at the company?
1. MAPPA studios; Their mission is to "deliver anime that will always remain in the hearts of viewers". In other words they want to animate stories in a way to deeply resonate with the viewer emotionally. MAPPA does have a TikTok, I've personally come across it a few times. Now, MAPPA has some high expectations so here are my thoughts:
This is quite an ambitious dream, some might even call it foolish, but this place is one of the greatest animation studios in Japan and even the world. Now, my first, most immediate problem is that I don't speak Japanese, so learning that is my top priority. My second priority would be to hone my drawing and animation skills. More specifically, I need to improve my skills in working and mixing 2d and 3d art because MAPPA is well known for doing that. Finally, I need to improve my focus. By this I mean, I need to improve my ability to focus on 1 project at a time and learn to complete that project, not just quickly but also well, almost perfectly. This is because, aside from making beautiful animations, MAPPA is notorious for giving their employees extremely tight deadlines. So honing these skills will be crucial to my development.
2. Social Media Content Creator/Video editor for myself; This would be incredible easy and right in my skill range. I have a TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and a YouTube. If I became a "full-time" social media content creator and also became a video editor for myself, not only would my current level of editing skill not matter, I could grow and develop my skills over time. I could build my name and reputation overtime, better myself for other (better) companies to hire me in the future.
Furthermore, I could learn about how social media apps like TikTok and YouTube work, which would increase my value as a graphic designer working for a big company. In regards to my "company", I don't really have a set mission or list of values. However, I do have a goal and that is to entertain my viewer.
3. Fanatics Inc.; This is a leading global digital sports platform. They do things like host events, do sports merchandising, etc. Fanatics’ mission is encapsulated in the declaration: “Amplify Pride and Create Connections for all Fans.” Their vision revolves around serving fans across their digital sports journey by delivering immersive, personalized experiences. The company has committed to becoming the leading global digital sports platform, integrating merchandising (Commerce), memorabilia (Collectibles), wagering (Betting & Gaming), live conventions (Events), and a central Fanatics App into a cohesive ecosystem that meets fan needs across touchpoints.
