My Poster:
In this assignment, the instructions were to create a poster for the annual masquerade at our local animal shelter on the first Saturday in October. So, after looking at the calendar to find the date for this event and googling near by animal shelters to get a phone number I began brainstorming ideas.
Brainstorming Phase:
The first Idea I had was to create a sort of disco ball that illuminated a dark room but after a while I decided to scrap that idea. Then I tried making a dance floor with people and animals seemingly dancing on it, but I ended up not liking the way it looked so I tried a different idea. The next idea I had was to have a black room full of white tie to simulate people but I didn't fit the aesthetic to well so I scarped that idea too. Finally, the white tie idea, plus the fact that the masquerade is being done by the animal shelter, gave me an new idea being: dog in a tuxedo.
The design:
Ok so to explain my thought process, basically, the dog body is placed right above the contact information so that it can lead you down there. Then, if they are still interest. the person will look around the poster and see the top part about the up coming Masquerade. Now the reason I picked a dog where a tuxedo is because I feel it just bizarre enough to make people passing by look twice.
